The setting shaped everything. Villa Miani sits high above Rome, with sweeping views across the city and the kind of timeless Italian grandeur that sets an exceptionally high bar for every detail of a day. For a June wedding in that heat and that light, we chose a superb lightweight cloth — cool enough to wear with ease through a long Italian summer’s day, but with the depth and drape that only quality fabric can deliver. The cut was sharp and structured, with the clean lines we’re known for at Clements & Church, finished with considered details that felt personal rather than off-the-peg.
Dressing the groomsmen was, as always, one of the most rewarding parts of the process. Every member of the wedding party has his own build, his own presence, and his own relationship with a suit. Our job is to bring them together into something cohesive — a look that reads beautifully as a group without anyone losing their individuality. We worked closely with Dean to ensure the party complemented one another, with coordinating details in the linings, buttons and accessories tying everything together with a sense of occasion.
The day itself was everything a Rome wedding should be. Villa Miani provided a breathtaking backdrop, the sun was out, and — in what became the moment everyone talked about — Lewis Capaldi performed as a surprise for Millie. Not a bad way to end the evening. Throughout it all, the tailoring held its own: every crease in the right place, every line exactly as intended, from the ceremony through to the last song.
There’s a particular satisfaction that comes from seeing a commission worn exactly as it was designed to be worn — in great company, in a beautiful place, on a day that matters. Dean and Millie’s wedding at Villa Miani was exactly that. We couldn’t be prouder to have played our part.
