Salon Prive 2026
On Thursday 3 September, Clements + Church will present a new celebration of sartorial excellence at Salon Privé: the Concours Cup for Style.
Taking place alongside the globally renowned Salon Privé Concours presented by Aviva Private Clients, the award recognises a gentleman whose tailoring demonstrates the same qualities celebrated throughout the Concours itself — craftsmanship, originality, attention to detail and an unmistakable sense of individuality.
Salon Privé brings together some of the world’s most exceptional automobiles and their collectors for a spectacular celebration of automotive excellence. Yet behind every remarkable car is an individual with their own taste, personality and appreciation for craftsmanship. The Concours Cup for Style brings that same focus to what happens beyond the bonnet — recognising the gentleman whose approach to tailoring is every bit as considered as his approach to collecting. Judging the award
The award will be judged across five key areas.
Tailoring & Fit will consider the cut, proportion and quality of construction, reflecting the importance of presentation and condition in the automotive Concours world. A beautifully made suit should sit naturally on its wearer, with every element balanced and purposeful.
Coherence of Look will recognise an outfit that works as a complete composition. From cloth and colour to shirt, tie and accessories, every element should feel considered rather than simply assembled from individual pieces.
Occasion-Appropriateness is equally important. Salon Privé provides a distinctive setting: sophisticated, elegant and relaxed, with the atmosphere of a quintessential British garden party. The winning look should understand the occasion — neither overly formal nor too casual.
Craftsmanship & Provenance celebrates the stories behind exceptional clothing. Bespoke tailoring, heritage makers and garments with personal or family histories will all add to the narrative, mirroring the importance of provenance and originality within the automotive Concours.
Finally, Individual Flair recognises the detail that makes an outfit personal. A distinctive tie, boutonnière, cufflinks or pocket square can transform a considered look, provided it demonstrates confidence without becoming costume.
For Clements + Church, the Concours Cup for Style represents a natural extension of our own approach to tailoring. We believe great clothing should combine exceptional craftsmanship with individuality. A suit should fit impeccably, but it should also tell you something about the person wearing it.
The award will take place on Thursday 3 September, coinciding with one of the highlights of the Salon Privé Concours and an occasion that brings together collectors, connoisseurs and some of the world’s most discerning guests.
At Clements + Church, we believe that style deserves to be judged with the same appreciation given to exceptional design and engineering. Because whether it is a beautifully restored automobile or a perfectly cut suit, true craftsmanship is immediately recognisable.
