On the 16th of May in the heart of Harborne, Birmingham, a truly remarkable wedding unfolded—one that celebrated not only the union of two people but also the artistry of tailoring and the vibrant culinary scene of the city. Simon and Sophie tied the knot in an elegant ceremony that blended contemporary style with personal flair, all brought together under the refined touch of Clements and Church.
This was no ordinary wedding. Both the bride and groom chose to forgo traditional bridalwear in favour of bespoke tailoring, marking a bold and beautiful statement. Simon was dressed by our own master tailor Matt Roden, opting for a silver flannel suit from the Clements and Church Signature Collection. The look was at once timeless and modern—sharp, elegant and effortlessly suave. His three-piece ensemble balanced tradition with individuality, perfectly suited to the occasion and the man himself.
Sophie was dressed by Hattie Hawksworth, whose expertise in creating structured, feminine tailoring came into its own with Sophie’s suit. Choosing a luxurious cream Holland & Sherry fabric, Sophie’s three-piece suit was a masterpiece of form and fit. Immaculately tailored with subtle feminine detailing, it was a look that radiated strength, elegance, and a modern approach to bridalwear. Harborne made for the perfect backdrop.

A thriving world of food and style brought together
The wedding breakfast was as exquisite as the couple’s tailoring. It brought together a veritable “who’s who” of Birmingham’s celebrated culinary scene. Guests were treated to a Michelin-starred experience, beginning with a starter by the esteemed Aktar Islam—known for his bold, inventive flavours and refined execution. The main course was followed by Tom Shepherd, whose precise, seasonal cuisine brought depth and warmth to the occasion.
Dessert was a show-stopper in its own right, courtesy of La Bellezza, whose creations blended artistry and indulgence in equal measure. And the pièce de résistance—a towering croquembouche, lovingly created by Dan Sweet—was as much a visual centrepiece as it was a culinary delight, adding a touch of drama and joy to the final course.
Every detail of the day reflected the couple’s impeccable taste and commitment to celebrating their story in a meaningful way. From the fabric choices to the food, it was a celebration of Birmingham craftsmanship, creativity, and community.
