At Clements and Church, we believe that every gentleman and woman deserves clothing that fits perfectly and reflects their unique style. Our journey began in 2007, much like any other gentleman’s outfitter. We stocked multiple brands and products, catering to the professional community in Birmingham city centre. However, over time, we noticed a significant gap in the quality and options available to us. We realised that to better serve our community, we needed to produce our own products. Thus, the first Clements + Church collections were born.
As we expanded into multiple locations, each store began to curate its own stock to serve its local community and uncover regional styles. During this period, our custom-made services gained immense popularity, accounting for half of the sales in certain stores. We’ve always taken pride in ensuring each client leaves our store with a perfectly fitting suit. The process of buying an off-the-peg suit typically included a few weeks for adjustments at our local workshop.
This success led us to experiment with a new approach. We relaunched our original Birmingham store with a custom-made-only approach. After an adjustment period, we successfully converted our existing customers, and we haven’t looked back since.
